Areas of study
A new lesson is taught every month, and the whole school studies it together.
Courses may include spellcraft, astromancy, dreamcatching, timeslip, creature hatchings, scrying, weatherworking and more.
Bond with creatures
The Nethren choose who they walk beside. This is the long work of being chosen.
Master wandwork
The wand shapes, the voice commands. Perfect movement with the wrong words does nothing at all.
Brew potions
A brew is only ingredients until something wakes it. Waking it is the easy part.
Learn to fly
Every first year asks about this on day one. It is the one lesson Velmere makes you wait for.

SOMETHING IS BEING MADEA full term at Velmere, printed on real paper, sealed and boxed. Three sealed letters, a numbered set of professor cards printed for that term and never again, and everything else a student needs. It arrives in the new year, and students on the list hear first.
Headmistress Reddlerose
Nothing enters or leaves Velmere without passing her first.
Twelve professors teach across the year. These are the ones you meet first.

Choose how you study
Free by email, forever. Or a full term in a box when one is available.
Take the Rite
Seven questions wake your Sigil, and your welcome arrives the same minute.
Your welcome arrives
Your first lesson · It reaches you by email, complete, with nothing held back.
Your first lesson
Every month after · A new lesson, a new spell, and the whole school studying the same thing at once.
Lessons arrive by email every month, free, for as long as you want them. Physical terms are sold separately, one box at a time, and never renew.
Questions the first years always ask.
When does my first lesson arrive?
Your Sigil reading arrives the minute you finish the Rite. The monthly lesson follows on the next send, and after that one arrives at the beginning of every month.
Does everyone study the same thing?
Yes. The whole school moves through the same lesson at the same time, whenever you enrolled. There is no catching up and nothing to miss.
Is Velmere for children or for adults?
Both, and it is written that way on purpose. Nothing here is simplified for anyone.
Is this a subscription?
No. Free enrollment is free forever with nothing to cancel. The physical term is one box, bought once, with everything inside it. Nothing about Velmere renews or bills you again.
What is a Sigil?
One of seven ancient magics. Yours is not chosen, it is revealed, and the Rite is what wakes it.
Is the magic real?
What is taught here is taught in story. Velmere and its spells are written to be spoken, imagined and enjoyed, and they do not act upon the physical world. Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal or professional advice, and activities are undertaken at your own risk, with adult supervision where heat or tools are involved. Velmere is not affiliated with any real institution. The only thing our magic has ever changed is the person holding it.
